How Should I Paint My Kitchen When Using Two Colors?

When you walk into my kitchen you are in the eating area that has a bay window and a big table. This is on the left half of the kitchen. On the right half is the appliances, sink, and cabinets. I want to use a combination of both a terra cotta color as well as a light milk chocolate brown. Where should I paint each of these colors? Should I paint the eating area in one color and the other area in the other color? Any advice would be appreciated!

i would do the eating area in the choclate brown and the kitchen area in the terra cotta because your cabinets are probably brown so if you painted the kitchen brown that would be too much brown if your cabinets are white do it the other way around.

In the eating area both colors..The light color on the top and dark color on bottom with a pretty wood border going thru the middle all the way around the bay window eating area room…Make the middle wood border line up with the bottom part of the bay window..Also put matching crown molding on top at the ceiling all the way around the eating area and kitchen areas..again in the kitchen area paint with the light color…
Have fun

kitchen area should be bright to and cheery to work in
usually eating areas are darker; think eat dinner at night
Either way, it would add interest to separate the areas with colour

I would use this tool for picking multiple colors. Make sure when you narrow your search to purchase the small testers and brush them on foam board or on your walls to make sure they look good in your light.

Here is a fantastic photo showing how they painted the kitchen area a dark red, and then they painted the eating area tan:http://www.roomvues.com/publicPicture.ph…
And here’s an example of how three different paint colors work well together in the same space:http://www.roomvues.com/publicPicture.ph…

I hope you were able to get some ideas from this.
