Chocolate Fountain July 15, 2010 michelle-ann awai I bought this fountain to be used at my wedding. I was very sceptical in deciding if to purchase or not based on other reviews that I had read. ( like chocolate splashing all over someone's house and kitchen.) My fountain arrived in a week and I live in Trinidad in the Caribbean. We started it up as soon as we got it, and did not regret buying it at all. It is amazing!!! It is the easiest to assemble ( thought that it might be difficult ) and in just a few minutes we had it assembled and ready to go.
We even tried hershey's chocolate syrup in it and it worked beautifully.
I would recoomend this product to all of those who are interested in this product. Do not hesitate, buy one today !!!
Crowd Pleaser!!!! July 7, 2010 Ritaj1126 I ordered this for a Graduation Party! I used a friends one time for a differant party and did not care for it,(It was a differant one). It was so loud we had to turn it off. THIS ONE WAS QUIET!!!!! It was great! The Hit of the party. Already have it booked for a wine time party LOL.
Great product! July 7, 2010 Phyllis Diggins I got tired of borrowing friends' fountains and decided to bite the bullet and buy my own. I am VERY impressed both with the ease of use and the ease of cleaning. Others that I have tried have not been as friendly. Another benefit is the versatility. Although I admit I have only used it for chocolate so far, I like the fact that there are different temperature settings, so I can use it for caramel, barbecue sauce and ranch dressing. If my friends and I ever get tired of chocolate, I will try some of the other things.
PROS: Ease of cleaning, versatility, stainless steel looks great.
CONS: Optimally needs 5 pounds of chocolate to work. That's a LOT of chocolate. Hard to stay on a diet with this in your house!
Whisper quiet, great looking, easy clean up! June 29, 2010 mpatroni After researching chocolate fountains, I decided to splurge on this one. I figured it's better to invest in a high quality product that will last and that I won't be frustrated with. I am very happy with this! I'll admit, I only used it once (Feb 2010), but it was a breeze to set up and a breeze to clean. Somehow amongst the pre-party frazzle of getting everything ready, I missed the very important section in the manual about testing the viscosity of the chocolate... so the fountain didn't produce a perfect flow, but that was my fault, not the fountain's. I was too distracted with everything else going on, but even so, everyone raved about the chocolate (Wilton's) and the fountain. My in-laws were here from overseas and were very impressed, so I got a few points there. I'm planning on using this again in July, for my son's birthday. This time I'll check the viscosity.
Worked very nicely ! June 21, 2010 V. Aiyer (Bay area, CA, USA) This was my very first chocolate fountain and I'm very pleased with the results. The Sephra Elite fountain worked as stated - easy to set up as well as clean afterward. And it did turn out to be the star of the party - everyone enjoyed chocolate dipped fruits!
As for the chocolate itself, we got the fine chocolate from TJs. To make it work with the fountain well, we did have to grate the chocolate (bunch of hard work ;) ) and melt in the microwave before pouring it in the base of the fountain. Then we added some vegetable oil into the base of the fountain and mixed with the melted chocolate for it to start to flow well. We used roughly 4 lbs of chocolate for ~40 guests. Oil used was between 1/2 - 1 cup - pour slowly, mix, test for the flow and adjust.
Once the melted chocolate was put in, it took a ~15-20 mins to get the flow going.
After we were all done, I had a bowl full of chocolate left over which I still don't know what to do with. To throw away just feels such a waste - probably for that reason, a simpler fondue may have been better. But I am very happy with what this fountain did for our party and do plan to use it again!!
